What happens when a group of friends with no resources, no time and no real experience get together and decide to make a short film? They end up with a highly entertaining balls to the wall flick that's destined to be a cult classic called Science Bastard.

I feel the best way to deal with a situation like this is to tell you almost exactly how I got from point A to point B. The story you are about to hear is 100% true, I watched it last night, no lie. An old local by the name of Jasper relays the story of the wondrous Science Bastard in all its glory to a nubile young college student in a tight white shirt (can you see I'm smiling?). The story of Science Bastard begins, as he's a child practicing science experiments while watching a Bill Nye type on TV. Science Bastard grows up to take a very important job at Krispy Kreme and also suffers from some very frightening visions. Visions that include a naked chick (from head to toe mind you) who takes a weed whacker to a cage of gerbils. This causes Science Bastard to take an electric drill to his forehead and dig really deep, which of course leads him to become a full fledge scientist (now it's official). Brandishing boots that say stand clear, a gas station attendant's uniform (jumpsuit type) and band-aids on his forehead to cover up the hole the drill left behind, he's now ready to rid the world of evil, or something like that.

Fighting evil in the name of good Science Bastard targets local crime lord Tony Cheese by pounding a blade in his forehead, which only makes Mr. Cheese and his crime coalition even stronger (he also grows these huge fur arms with giant papier mache hands and naturally he becomes Skunk Ape of course). Science Bastard is captured by Skunk Ape and his "henchwoman" Skunk Girl who likes to dance around in a fur bikini and also proceeds to bite off Science Bastard's nipple in a particularly gruesome scene. It's at this time that Science Bastard is dumped in the wilderness and left for dead. That is until his favorite TV scientist comes to life (and to the rescue) and offers Science Bastard some sound advice and a chance to eat his brains (which Science Bastard reluctantly obliges to for some knowledge and strength). This is where I'm going to leave you on your own, as there is more, but I don't want to spoil all the fun. Just keep an eye out for the final fight between Science Bastard and an evil alien which also involves some intestines and strangulation, you do the math. The best way to sum it up is to quote a line from the film, spoken by the cute gal in the tight white Science Bastard t-shirt "If this crap were true, I would have heard about it on the Discovery Channel!" Indeed!

Science Bastard is a gloriously blood drenched, highflying wirework, topless hamster killing, intestine squishing and strangulation good time of a film. Featuring funny performances, decent effects, and a fantastic all around original rock soundtrack, this flick is not to be missed. Pick up a copy and show it as a short before your next movie night. You and your sick fuck of a friend won't be disappointed, guaranteed (not a guarantee)

Also included on the tape are a few trailers for some other Exhilarated Despair productions as well as a nifty behind the scenes segment (this time we get to see skunk girl topless, enjoy!) all told the tape runs about 45 minutes between the trailer, feature and behind the scenes footage.

Never in my entire life have I seen so much goodness crammed into a 25 minute running time. I was so entertained; I watched it 2 times in a row. 4 words for you... Science Bastard - See it.
