I hope you folks are ready for more Seduction Cinema madness! We are back today in style with their erotic/crime drama hybrid release on DVD entitled Sin Sisters starring real life sisters Misty and Chelsea Mundae, imagine that! Strap yourselves in folks, it's gonna be one hell of a bumpy and confusing ride...with sexy results!
We get things rolling with a "hip" and "edgy" opening credits sequence that would make any wannabe music video director with Final Cut Pro proud. Our story then begins, as two young ladies (Misty and Chelsea) are sun bathing by the pool, when who should happen to enter the scene, but the pool boy! Sisters will be sisters though and they both take their turns flirting with the lucky young man. Cynthia (Misty) the more flirtatious of the two wins him over as she seductively strokes herself with a butcher knife(?) and layers on the sunscreen (SPF 30 perhaps?) while Morgana fails miserably in raising the young mans desires by seductively chomping down on a banana. Winning the battle, Cynthia and the pool boy walk off, done and done. What did this 15-minute scene accomplish? Well, aside from the seductive striptease and soft-core Misty/pool boy shenanigans, I'm fairly certain that the director was expressing the fact that Cynthia and Morgana are two very different sisters, each with clashing personalities. All of this is evidenced even more so by the next scene in which Cynthia taunts Morgana as she attempts to get in a good work out.
We now follow Cynthia into the showers while Morgana secretly videotapes. I have to tell you, if I've learned one thing and one thing only from Seduction Cinema films, it's that all girls masturbate every time they take a shower. This would easily explain why they spend so much time in the bathroom to begin with (remember, you heard it here first). Moving on down the road, it turns out that the camera is actually connected to a monitor in the Dean's Office (that's a shocker) and the Dean's assistant Beth (played by Andrea Davis and let me tell you, this girls nipples could cut glass) catches the action while filing paperwork or something to that affect. Moving even further along, Beth confronts Cynthia in the showers calling her a whore and telling her that she'll no longer be "Valedictorian of their college!", Oh! That's where they are, at college, OK! I can see it now, "Dean, I caught Cynthia masturbating in the showers, I don't think she should be Valedictorian anymore!" Cynthia doesn't take too kindly to any of this talk and slams Beth into the wall. Morgana and Cynthia dump the body in the trunk of their car and drive off into the sunset with a bottle of Jack in hand.
While Cynthia swigs away at that bottle of Jack like it's a Mint Snapple (do seasoned alcoholics even drink like this?) a frightened Morgana bolts out of the car for no apparent reason and heads straight for a nearby isolated cabin. Cynthia doesn't exactly rush to her sister's aid, and after hanging around for a bit eventually finds Morgana tied up in the cabin, held prisoner by a young lady named Juli (Julian Wells). Juli now holds the two sisters kinda "captive" and makes them play all sorts of weird games of both the verbal and sexual kind. After they've both been put through their paces by Ms. Juli it all comes full circle with a "twist" finale that actually does a half-decent job of explaining the mostly improbable situations that had led us up to this point to begin with. You wanna find out what it is? You'll have to see fer yerself!
Needless to say that Sin Sisters is all kinda crazy, trying to find its place in the super large cinematic spectrum. It's part 70's sleaze, part "Tarantino-esque hipster talk" but never quite a whole lot of anything. Of course one has to set expectations in their proper place when watching a film of this sort, it's serving it's niche market that's for sure. Then there are those of us who'll watch just about anything that the lovely Misty Mundae is in anyway (Hi, My name is Lawrence and I'm a Misty-a-holic). Sin Sisters definitely had its moments including some really choice bits of dialogue that I'd love to share with you now. Upon introductions Juli remarks, "I always wanted a sister" to which Cynthia (Misty) replies "Then why don't you stick that cock that you're hiding in your skirt up your ass and produce one!" Wonderful! At one point the Dean's Assistant Beth is given the opportunity to exclaim these powerful words of wisdom, "You couldn't make a 13-year old retard cum!" It certainly doesn't end there as one of the games entails Cynthia and Morgana taking turns thinking of as many nicknames for certain body parts that they can come up with. For example, first up is Cynthia with the word breasts, some of my favorites were; flesh bulbs, love muffins, snippers, and nose cones or snuggle pups. Morgana is given the word penis and some of her choice nicknames are; one-eyed wonder worm, sperminator or powerhouse pepperoni.
In addition to these bits of verbal brilliance there are also plenty of scenes for the raincoat crowd which amount to your mostly standard Seduction Cinema girl-girl action, aside from the opening scene with the pool boy. There's quite a naughty bit towards the end too with a "tatooed member" that you'll just have to see for yourself and of course there's Misty and Andrea Davis in a deliciously erotic moment that ends with a wallop to the head. Most impressive of all is the interaction between real life sisters Misty and Chelsea. They both have a great rapport and share some impressive screen time together. For what it's worth, I enjoyed the scenes between the two of them the most, and was surprised to find that a few of the more "emotional" scenes between the two sisters were actually quite effective here. Director Tony Marsiglia (Dr. Jekyll and Mistress Hyde review here) manages to pull it all together quite well for an erotic cheese-fest, the film looks fairly slick, especially the bronzed over look of the scenes inside the cabin. At times the film even looks like it was filmed in a cool sepia tone and it's a pretty neat effect.
Presented in surprisingly enough, a 16X9 enhanced widescreen transfer, Sin Sisters looks pretty damn good. Most of the film was shot outdoors on bright sunny days, and the artificial color schemes of the cabin also come across quite effective as well. There are really no artifacts or blemishes of any kind to speak of. The mono audio doesn't fare so well though, with some background noise and low spoken dialogue. It's pretty hard to hear at times, especially when people speak at low volumes (around a whisper) so I did find myself having to adjust the volume quite a bit.
Extras include two trailers for Sin Sisters, a Seduction Cinema trailer vault (I can watch that trailer for Mummy Raider over and over again and I'm still looking forward to Spiderbabe) and a featurette (approx 12-minutes) that includes interviews with both Misty and Chelsea. As usual Misty comes across as an intelligent young woman (making her seem all the more attractive) as does Chelsea. There are some vintage clips of both starlets including the early days of the Mundae's with Factory 2000. Liner notes with some "revealing" pics primarily of and about Chelsea round out the package. For what it's worth I dug Sin Sisters and while the extras may not hold up quite as well as previous Seduction Cinema titles have (can we top that 80-minutes worth of behind the scenes footage on Dr. Jekyll and Mistress Hyde?), this DVD is still a fine addition to any Misty or Chelsea fan's collection. You can find this title for less than 15 bucks online, so there you have it. I give Sin Sisters 3 out of 4 used tissues! Minor investment, major entertainment!
