Lawrence

If EI Cinema will ever be known for pulling off an epic film, this would definitely be the one. Through their Seduction Cinema line EI Cinema brings us a hilarious and sexilicious satire of The Lord of the Rings, in The Lord of the G-Strings. Maybe it's just me but it seemed like anyone who is anyone over at Seduction Cinema was in this flick. Most important of all is the fact that it looked like everyone was having a great time in the process. Let's dig in with a detailed look at a flick that is sure to please Seduction Cinema fans and newbies alike, Lord of the G Strings: The Femaleship of the String.

Our story begins in the land of Diddle Earth and the Throbbits (are you with me so far?) that inhabit the land. 3 young Throbbits Horny (Darian Caine) and Spam (AJ Kahn) are led by Dildo Saggins (super cute Misty Mundae) on a quest to destroy the sexually mind numbing G-string. Instructed by an alcoholic and touchy feely wizard, aptly named Smirnof (hilariously played by Michael R Thomas) the three Throbbits are instructed to throw the G-string deep into Party Pooper Volcano... and their quest begins.

Along the way the three Throbbits encounter much evil (or eee-v-iiil) as well as quite a few sexual encounters. Dildo must go incognito as Miss Undergarments so no one will be clued in to their most dangerous quest. It seems as if the legendary G-string has been known to have a mysterious sexual hold on people and many want to get there grubby little hands on it, ya dig? Our dear Throbbits are joined by Araporn (Barbara Joyce) on their quest and must avoid many dangers and obstacles. These dangers include (but are not limited to) an evil man-creature named Ballum, General Uptight and the evil Horspank, the dreaded Dorcs (as well as the Dorc forces) and dare I say it... the dutch oven of death!

I guess it goes without saying that this flick is a whole lotta silly. But then again, it's a whole lotta silly fun. I wasn't expecting too much when I popped the DVD in the old player, perhaps a few fart jokes and some skin (which actually would have been fine... sometimes I'm easy to please). While the fart jokes are intact (and there are plenty of them) Lord of the G-Strings also happens to have a whole lot more to offer. Director Terry West says in the behind the scenes segment that he wanted to make a flick that was as funny as it is sexy, and he has succeeded... with flying colors.

Lord of the G-Strings is not only erotic fodder, but a well written, executed and acted satire. The jokes are extremely funny and the performances ooze of that comedic timing that's really needed to pull off the humor at hand. There is truly a great ensemble cast that has been rounded up here, and in addition to all of the sexy skin on display (and believe me there is PLENTY) we've also got smart dedicated performances and a very, very funny script.

Performances are key here and each of the lovely ladies of Seduction Cinema pull of their roles (and their clothes) with ease. I'm not gonna kid you, it's evident that these chicks are on their knees when they're only supposed to be 4 feet tall, but it's still very funny! There are plenty of silly computer effects to lead us from one scene to another and the battle scenes are... well, let's just say there are battle scenes. All in all this is a solid production that had a hell of a lot of effort put into it.

OK, let's talk lovely ladies as there are plenty. This wouldn't be a Seduction Cinema flick if there weren't plenty of soft-core action, which there is. Girl on guy, girl on girl, girl on girl on girl and the icing on the cake... girl on girl on girl on girl on girl... (I think you get the idea). Not only does the flick deliver on clever satire, but there are also plenty of juicy bits for the raincoat crowd (nothing to be ashamed of). Of course there's also plenty of Misty to be found as well, which is always a major plus!

Now, I'm not gonna lie to you, the soft-core scenes do tend to drag on for a bit too long and I was actually surprsied to see the few guy/girl scenes included (these Seduction Cinema releases are usually girl/girl heavy, not that it really matters to me either way). I was tempted to hit the FF button a few times during these "dry hump and lick sessions". Luckily, the comedic elements drive the flick NOT the soft-core bits. Not that we minded the soft-core bits, not in the least! Apparently in about a months time (April '03) there will be an R-Rated edition of G-Strings unleashed that will include another side story and much more of the slick satire that I dug from this edition in place of some of the harder soft-core scenes. Sounds like it could come across as a completely different flick, one to keep an eye out for as it appears as if each edition will have their virtues.

Shot on 16mm and presented full frame Lord of the G-Strings looks really good all things considered. Nice solid colors, little to no grain or print damage and no evidence of artifacting or pixelation. Audio is presented in a solid 2-channel mix and boasts clear dialogue and seamless audio transitions from scene to scene.

Extras include 9 Seduction Cinema trailers, a music video and 2 behind the scenes segments. The first is a documentary that runs just under an hour and offers an inside look at the production of the film itself. The second featurette is just random raw behind the scenes footage and runs about 45-minutes. Both segments have their virtues and are a lot of fun. They both compliment the feature at hand quite well.

Seduction Cinema hits a home run with this one folks and it's way out of the park. It ain't rocket science here. This is not a film for the masses and it's not gonna change the world or enlighten your existence. What it is gonna do is make you laugh and perhaps even titillate you a bit as well. The feature, extras and presentation are all top notch. Seduction Cinema's future releases are starting to make me even more curious as we speak... I mean... am I the only one who's looking forward to SpiderBabe? Jeez, bring it on!
