God bless Andy Sidaris! I grew up watching his flicks on cable (when I wasn't supposed to mind you, sorry mom!) and have always had a soft spot in my heart for the b-movie goodness that he manages to constantly pump out. Nobody makes sexy action flicks like Andy Sidaris does, and I suspect that nobody ever will. He's one of a kind, and so are his flicks, which provide ample amounts of babes and impressively executed low-rent special effects. Do Or Die and Hard Hunted are the latest pair (pardon the pun!) of Sidaris flicks to make their most welcomed appearance on the digital format in jam-packed special editions. I anxiously awaited their arrival, and as with the previous Sidaris entries released on DVD, I wasn't disappointed.

In Do or Die, Donna Speir and Roberta Vasquez star as Donna and Nicole, two super sexy bikini clad secret government agents who are thrust into a dangerous game of cat and mouse by baddie crime kingpin Kane (played wonderfully by Pat Morita). It seems as if Kane is just tired of the two agents constant meddling in his unethical affairs and wants to rid of them once and for all. Bent on taking them out with a bang Kane devises a dangerous game that Donna and Nicole are forced to play. Kane has put together 6 teams of assassins to dispose of the two lovely agents. Secretly bugging a watch, Kane is able to keep track of Nicole and Donna and always remain one step ahead. Nicole and Donna don't know when, where or how... so what are two super sexy secret agents to do? Why, take a topless rest in the hot tub of course!

After their rest in the tub, the two lovely ladies put their tops back on (for a little while anyway) and hop in their jeep as the game begins. These assassins come in many shapes, sizes and mentalities. They're also not discreet in their attempts at taking down Nicole and Donna. They're first chased down by a helicopter, which they easily dispose of with a walking cane that converts into a dart bomb thrower...cool. Nicole and Donna next don their disguises and head out to Las Vegas where they are joined by some super agent help including that of Richard (played by Erik Estrada). What follows are enough chases (including dune buggy and speedboat), explosions and sweet delicious puns to keep any b-movie fan on the edge of their seat. Highlights include a classy country-western bar bit (complete with musical performance), a requisite steamy love scene by fireplace, a baseball bomb(!) and our two leads changing their tops during an airplane getaway (an Andy Sidaris favorite!).

Do or Die is truly a prime example of Andy Sidaris at his finest. Andy makes excellent use of his locales including that of the islands of Hawaii and the flick is full of gratuitous amounts of nudity and explosions. Not to mention plenty of that Andy Sidaris wit we've all grown to know and love with lines like "I'm gonna blow their tits off!" I couldn't have said it better myself!

Hard Hunted can be seen almost as a direct sequel to Do Or Die, except for a few slight changes. The character of Kane is back but not how you'd expect. Pat Morita has been replaced with a slick and crafty Englishmen this go round. Playmates Speir and Vasquez reprise their roles along with a new friend in Playmate Cynthia Brimhall. The three try to thwart the plans of the evil Kane and his band of multiple wackos and badasses, including the copter-flying Raven. From Hawaii to Arizona and back again our lovely beauties try to protect the world from the dangers of nuclear weapons and guard a priceless Jade figurine. Of course the gals also find plenty of time for more fun in the sun and there's even room for another fantastic musical number that only Andy Sidaris could provide!

Both features provide mind-numbing amounts of b-movie entertainment and Andy delivers on nearly every level. That's the real beauty of the Sidaris film. Andy promises, and he delivers on those promises... and then some! Plenty of sexy dames to go around and no computer effects here folks, we're talking excellent z-grade effects using miniatures, squibs, blanks and real explosions!

Both Do Or Die and Hard Hunted are presented full frame (their intended ratio) and make their transition to DVD very well. There are only minimal amounts of print damage or grain to be found on either disc and colors come across quite vibrant. Minor evidence of grain pops up mostly during a few darker scenes, but for the most part we're given exceptionally clear transfers. Audio is presented in Dolby Surround and holds up quite well with no evidence of background noise or hiss and nice clear dialogue along with impressive and ample use of the surrounds.

As usual the extras are packed in tight on each of these two dual layered beauties. Each disc features an entertaining and thoughtful audio commentary with both Andy and Arlene Sidaris along with an Andy Sidaris bio, still galleries and trailers for each of the flicks from the Sidaris collection (12 in all). Each disc also features an intro by Andy and Julie Strain (this gal just can't keep her top on!), behind the scenes footage from selected Sidaris films and Andy's patented film school in which he and Arlene walk you through the process of constructing an action and sexy scene from Return to Savage Beach. Also returning is the thoughtful play all features for the extras along with the bullets, bombs and babes guide for each chapter (listed in the full color fold out booklet with even more pics!). Andy and Arlene continue to provide spectacular special edition discs that truly have the fans in mind.

It's another success for the Sidaris clan as they invite fans to sit back and relax with two more awesome special edition DVDs. I'd have to say that Do or Die is the favorite around these parts, but both discs make for an extremely entertaining double feature. As they keep pumping them out, I can't help but think that each of these discs from the Sidaris collection deserve a spot on the shelf of every cult film fan!
